About Sage Environmental Services

Sage Environmental Services, Inc. is the provider of world-class Green Janitorial and Facility Maintenance services for commercial, multi-family, and residential sectors. Sage began in 2001, branching out as the operational division of another company designed to educate and inspire individuals and companies to “Go Green.” Understanding that busy people often do not have the time, expertise, and resources to implement, maintain and measure the success of sustainability programs over time, we started to do it for them as a free service. The result is efficient green systems that are cost-effective, more sustainable, and convenient.

Our Team

Julie Pond · President & Founder

Julie founded Sage Environmental Services in 2001 to showcase Seattle as a proving ground for best sustainable practices in the facility services and environmental services industries, and to develop the next generation of green leaders and pioneers. Julie brings over 20 years of management experience in the Facility Services and Environmental Services industries. She obtained a Masters Degree in Environmental Sciences from the Evergreen State College, where her candidacy paper was picked up by the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. Julie completed the Executive Leadership Program at Cornell University’s SC Johnson School of Graduate Management, and also earned a double-degree in PsychoBiology and Environmental Sciences from the University of Washington. Julie is an active member of her community, including volunteer work as an Urban Creek Steward and serving as Chairman of the Seattle Solid Waste Advisory Committee.

Iain Cameron · Vice President of Business Development

Iain oversees sales and marketing team staff and is responsible for large institutional accounts and strategic partnerships. Iain has over 35 years of experience as an Executive in the Facility Services industry. He founded and served as President of Executive Residence, Inc. for 18 years, and founded and served as President of Executive Green Clean, LLC, which Sage acquired in 2010. Iain served as the Director of the Royal Guest Palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and has held Senior Management positions at the Sorrento Hotel, Four Seasons, and CHG International. Iain has a degree in Hospitality Management from Ealing College in London.

Robert Romanowski · Vice President of Operations

Robert is responsible for our Operations Divisions in Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area. Robert brings over a decade of exceptional Facility Maintenance Operations experience.Robert spent over 7 years as a Regional Manager for BlackRock, where he was responsible for Operations in 4 states. Most recently he served as a Senior Facility Manager in a high-end luxury facility with BRE Properties.

Mattie Porter · Customer Service and Communications Specialist

Mattie is responsible for frontline Customer Service support, Client Relations, and Public Relations. Mattie Porter joined the Sage Team in 2008. Starting as Administrative Assistant, she quickly earned the title of “Customer Service Goddess.” Mattie originally came to our company with over 4 years of experience as an Executive Assistant. Mattie recently returned to us from a year in Switzerland. To the delight of our clients and employees, she returns to the front lines of customer service, as well as taking on new responsibilities in Communications that showcase her exceptional talent as a writer.
