Paper Reduction Tip
Send E-Cards Instead of Paper
In the US, it is estimated that the average person consumes 737 lbs.
of paper per year. You can do a lot to reduce the paper that goes into our
waste stream by recycling. For example, every ton of paper made from recycled
material saves approximately 17 trees. Recycling is one way people try to reduce
waste, but reducing paper use before it enters the consumption stream is even
better.
Most people know to try and double-side their print-outs at the office to reduce paper use, but have you considered digital greeting cards? Using E-Cards is a great way to send personal cards or messages without adding more paper to the waste stream. Here are some great places to find free electronic greeting cards.
If you do choose to send a paper greeting, be sure to look for products that use recycled paper.
